Until last year, I had never known about Lincoln restaurant week.  Now I have been looking forward to this week for quite some time.  Why?  Because I am a mom of four whose dining experience primarily involves places with rapidly prepared food that generally have kids meals.  Getting to dine at a place where the food preparation is the focus rather than how quickly the food is served is a treat.  Last year,   Carmela’s Bistro and Wine Bar was our pick for restaurant week and was a fabulous place for a date.

Tomorrow I get to spend the day with my husband.  (Primarily we will be working on finding customers for our new dustless blasting business, but at least we will be together).    Since we will be dining out for lunch, my plan is to choose one of the fourteen featured restaurants for our meal experience.  Picking which place to go might be one of the hardest decisions that I will face tomorrow.  🙂  Later this week, I will let you know of our selection and what we thought of the experience.

Besides writing about Carmela’s, I have featured several of the other restaurant week locations on my blog.  To read about these fine locations, please click on the link.

Fireworks Restaurant (appetizers we enjoyed there)

The Normandy (from their previous location in the Railyard – now they are a stand alone restaurant)

Eventually I would like to have links to all of the restaurants because I have dined at all of them.  Wouldn’t that be fun?  Now to only convince my husband that this goal has merit …  🙂

P.S. Omaha Restaurant Week happens in September.  Read about my friend, Kim’s experiences at that event on her blog,  Oh My! Omaha
