During this previous school year, our family was immersed in United States history. Learning the tales of real people who made a difference in their worlds is my favorite part of that course of study. Too easily the true tales of history can be forgotten and lost in time rather than preserved for all of us about those whose imprint on the past has continued to make an impact on our future.
That is why I am so excited to be involved with America’s Great Stories for the second year in a row. This Lincoln based ministry happens during June around the city and will be highlighting the lives of Dr. Benjamin Rush, Phyllis Wheatley, Billy Sunday and Samuel Francis Smith this year. To learn more about what happens, you definitely should watch this video:
If you live in the Lincoln, Nebraska, area, please find an event near you. Try to attend at the same location each week since the storytellers do rotate to different places.
