This morning at 11 am, I get to travel around the Midwest via Twitter. While my “journey” will technically be from my basement, I am continuing to gather information about all of the great towns and cities in the area that I want to visit someday. Lincoln places will be a part of today’s adventures.
Today is the Midwest Twitter Chat Round-up where we are revisiting the places that have been featured in 2015 on the monthly chats. In August, they “visited” Lincoln places, and I greatly enjoyed interacting with so many people and places that call Lincoln home. As a part of the upcoming chat today, my friend, Lisa, of The Walking Tourists, asked us to send her links of posts featuring the destinations that will be revisited.
When I searched up “Lincoln” on my blog, I came up with 23 pages of results. Yes, you read that correctly. 23 Lincoln places. Perhaps too many links to send on … Granted some of the posts are about Lincoln history and past events rather than places to visit, but still … Obviously I feature my hometown quite a bit on this blog. Why not write a “Best of” post? As I was compiling, I realized I still have too many places for even one “Best of” post. The end result is TWO posts: Best of Places to Go and Learn” and “Best of Places to Eat, Stay and Shop.” First stop: going and learning. Because I do not want to play favorites and since I am really not sure I could pick which one is the “best,” I will even put them in alphabetical order.
Places to Go
Memorial Stadium: Home of the Huskers
Places to Learn
American Historical Society of Germans from Russia Museum
Back to the Bible International Headquarters
Fairview (William Jennings Bryan’s home)
International Quilt Museum and Study Center ((Two posts!)
Larsen Tractor Test & Power Museum
Lincoln Berean Church Art Gallery
National Museum of Roller Skating
UNL Morrill Hall (Dinosaurs & More)
I hope you enjoy discovering these Lincoln places as much as we have!
