For our family, we are in the midst of birthday season. From mid-October to mid-November, four out of the six people in my immediate family have birthdays. Plus, my uncle, sister and mother-in-law have birthdays as well, along with my niece just days later. Next week we are adding a new niece or nephew to our crew (I am SO excited about that!), so our times to gather together for birthday parties just keep increasing. Lots of cake and celebrations for us this month!
Our family is not the only ones celebrating right now. On Sunday November 8th, the Lincoln Children’s Museum is recognizing their TWENTY-FIFTH birthday. For the past quarter of a century, they have been enriching the lives of children and families from Lincoln, Nebraska and beyond. What better way to honor this anniversary than by having a giant party? By clicking on the link , you can find out all about the planned activities that include exhibits from other local kid friendly places as well as performances by kids in music and theater.
At the party, they will be revealing their two newest exhibits: “The Grow Zone” for toddlers and young preschoolers as well as the “Cuckoo Construction” area which I have a feeling will be delighting kids of all ages. Later on this week, I will be sharing pictures of the completed exhibits. My children are looking forward to previewing these new exhibits and giving their “expert” opinions. If you cannot make it to the party on Sunday for your own preview, I highly recommend visiting the Lincoln Children’s Museum soon.
Not currently a member? Guess what? I can help with that! In honor of their 25th birthday, the Museum has chosen to give away twenty-five memberships. Last Friday I was asked if I would be willing to give one away on this blog. As if there was any need to question!!!!! I am super excited to announce that one of my readers will win their own family membership (a $78 value) simply by commenting below. If you are already happen to be a member, this still applies to you because this gift would be applied as a “free” renewal. Simply tell what part of the museum your family enjoys experiencing the most OR which of the new exhibits that you cannot wait to explore. I will announce the winner early Saturday afternoon so that if the winners do not already have a family membership that they can “join” just in time to enjoy the party. This is too great of a party to keep to yourself – please invite your friends to enter too!
Note: while one reader will receive a membership, I personally did not receive any monetary compensation from this post, although my family does get to visit for a complimentary sneak peak!
We love the grocery store!!!! Can’t wait to see the new Grow Zone!!!
We are eagerly awaiting the Cuckoo Construction area! It’s a tower that spans all three floors complete with a conveyor belt for bricks! Who wouldn’t love that?!
I have four kiddos, ages 10,9,6 and 4, they all enjoy different aspects of the museum:) My 10 and 9 year old love the TV area and the traveling exhibits. My 6 year old really enjoys the dress up area and I can’t ever seem to get my 4 year old out of the football area! I am SO excited to see the new Cuckoo Construction and the endless opportunity for imaginative play! 🙂
We love so many things, but the kids seem to love the water area the most! 🙂
It’s been soooo long since we’ve gone to the museum. My kids love going and have loved the fire truck/police/train areas plus face painting.
My kids love the Vet area and the apple picking area!
We really enjoy the penguins. They are so cute.
My boys favorite is the top floor,,,trains for my 2 year old and the space ship for my 9 year old!
My girls love the stage! We are all girls here and to be able to dress up and preform is simply the best! 🙂
All my kiddos seem to love the grocery store but can’t wait for the construction zone as we’ve been a part of a family owned construction company for years-this sort of “play” is so close to home.
We love the children’s museum!!! Always a fun place to go!!
My son loves the trains! I’m really excited for the new toddler play area. We’ve missed it.
We always love the traveling exhibits that are always changing…so fun to see what new thing is there…we are very excited for the newest exhibit, and really love it all. Some of the normal favs are the fire truck, motorcycle, store, mole holes, and rocket.
It’s been sooo long since we’ve been to the museum. My kids have fun in all the areas from the fire truck to the trains and face painting! How great this would be!
My kids all love playing with the pin board on the top floor. Even my Grandma has tried it out.
It’s been awhile since we’ve been in to the museum. I have a feeling cuckoo construction will be a new fave. My kids have all loved playing chess on the giant board, getting soaked in the water area, climbing through the tunnels, and selling each other groceries in the store.
My littles still love the dress up and face paint.
We love the museum and would love to win!! Our favorite thing is the bridge on the main floor. Josiah would run back and forth on that all day long if he could!!
We absolutely love the museum–especially the rotating exhibits like the Keva planks
My kids always enjoy climbing through the tunnels and getting wet.
We love the Children’s Museum! Some of our favorites are the space shuttle, big chess game, play stage, tunnels, apple tree, and face painting. To hard to pin point just one ;)!
We love picking the apples off the apple tree! And the water 🙂
We LOVE the Lincoln Children’s Museum and visit often! My kiddos love blasting off to Mars in the space station and putting on live performances on the stage downstairs. The LCM is a great place for my littles to have fun while learning!
My son is so excited about the construction exhibit! He always says “digger” when he looks over the edge!
Our favorite is the grocery store! But really everything is too much fun!
Our favorite part of the children’s museum is the apple tree and grocery store! My kids absolutely love going.
We love the museum too! Ella loves the tractor and of course the water!
Heather Poore
The water area used to be our favorite…it has been over a year since we have visited. Would be fun to see what is new!!
We love the groundhog tunnels, and airport area. The new areas sound so fun!
We love the gopher holes!!!
We could spend all day just on one floor! I love that you can bring your own lunch too. Once I was at “the biggest children’s museum in the USA” or something, and the Lincoln one puts it to shame!! I don’t know how they test that stuff…but ours was wayyyyy more fun!
