Until I was researching details for A History Lover’s Guide to Lincoln, I never realized that celebrating May Day used to be an important spring celebration at the University of Nebraska.

What I remember …

A May Day Queen was chosen

There was school wide participation

Costumes and dress mattered

As for the specifics, they will be added later. Due to the current state of the world, I do not have easy access to research materials.
